Callicoon Fine Arts is please to present Hello, I'm on Vacation, an installation by Margaret Lee. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 5th, from 5 to 7pm. The exhibition will run until July 11th. The gallery is located at 27 Lower Main Street, Upstairs, in Callicoon, NY.

In the side gallery, Margaret Lee 's installation Hello, I'm on Vacation, combines painting, drawing, and sculptural elements to address her role as an artist, curator, and gallerist. In May 2009, coincidentally the same month that Callicoon Fine Arts opened, she inaugurated 179 Canal, a gallery in New York City's Chinatown. Specific architectural details will be stripped from her space and installed at Callicoon Fine Arts. Exhibited alongside these installed elements, her own painting of the interior of 179 Canal, together with sculptures she often revisits within her own practice, and a book of drawings that look back on the past year of programing at her space, come together to underscore the collaborative nature of gallery production and artistic exchange.

Margaret Lee, born 1980 in the Bronx, attended Barnard College and currently lives and works in New York. She runs the gallery 179 Canal. Recent projects include: Betteraves Club (with Emily Sundblad), Performa 09; Today and Everyday at X Initiative; and a collaborative project at White Columns, all NY. She lives and works in Brooklyn and New York. Please visit 179canal.com for more.
